Program Summary

English and literary studies is an academic course that explores the English language, its structure, history, and diverse applications, alongside the study of literature from various periods and regions. It focuses on developing critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills through the interpretation and evaluation of literary texts, including poetry, prose, and drama. The course examines different literary movements, genres, and theories, providing students with an understanding of how literature reflects and shapes cultural, historical, and social contexts. Requirements

UTME REQUIREMENTS ; Five ‘O’ level credit passes to include Literature in English and English Language. JAMB Subjects: Use of English, one Arts subject and two other Arts or Social Science subjects. DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS ; Two ‘A’ level papers including English at IJMB/ NCE, or a minimum of Merit at Diploma. Candidates with Diploma must also possess a pass in Literature in English. General English/Use of English at NCE satisfies’ O’ level English requirement.
