Program Summary

Pharmaceutical technology is a field that focuses on the development, production, and quality control of pharmaceutical products. It involves the application of scientific principles and engineering techniques to the formulation and manufacturing of drugs, ensuring their safety, efficacy, and stability. The course covers various aspects, including drug formulation, dosage form design, pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements. Students learn about different types of dosage forms such as tablets, capsules, injections, and topical preparations, as well as the excipients and techniques used in their production. The course also delves into drug delivery systems, exploring conventional and advanced methods to optimize drug absorption and therapeutic effects. Practical training in laboratory techniques, equipment handling, and process validation is an integral part of the curriculum, providing hands-on experience in pharmaceutical production. Additionally, students gain insight into Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality control measures, and regulatory guidelines set by organizations like the FDA and WHO. The field of pharmaceutical technology is essential in bridging the gap between drug discovery and commercial production, ensuring that medicines meet the required standards for patient use.
