Program Summary

Statistics as a course focuses on collecting, analyzing, interpreting, presenting, and organizing data. It introduces fundamental concepts such as measures of central tendency, dispersion, probability, and hypothesis testing. Students learn different methods for summarizing data, including graphical representations like histograms and box plots. Probability theory is explored to understand the likelihood of events, leading to inferential statistics, where sample data is used to make generalizations about a population. The course also covers statistical distributions, confidence intervals, and regression analysis, helping students identify relationships between variables. Practical applications involve real-world data analysis using software tools, ensuring that students develop problem-solving skills in various fields such as business, healthcare, engineering, and social sciences.
