Program Summary

Private and property law is a course that explores the legal principles governing relationships between individuals and entities in private matters, with a focus on ownership, rights, and obligations. It covers key areas such as contracts, torts, family law, succession, and real property. The course examines how legal frameworks regulate transactions, protect rights, and resolve disputes in civil matters.

Students learn about the nature of private legal relationships, the formation and enforcement of agreements, liability for wrongful acts, and the rules governing inheritance and personal property. Property law aspects include land ownership, leasing, mortgages, easements, and intellectual property. The course also addresses contemporary legal challenges, such as digital property rights and emerging trends in private law.

By studying case law, statutes, and legal theories, students develop analytical and problem-solving skills essential for understanding legal reasoning and the application of laws in real-world scenarios. The course is fundamental for those pursuing careers in law, business, or public policy, as it provides a strong foundation in the legal structures that shape personal and commercial interactions.
