Program Summary

Quantity surveying is a field of study that focuses on the financial and contractual management of construction projects. It involves cost estimation, budgeting, procurement, contract administration, and project financial control. Students learn how to evaluate project costs, manage resources efficiently, and ensure that construction projects are completed within budget and according to contractual agreements.  

 

The course covers subjects such as construction technology, building materials, cost planning, project management, and legal aspects of construction. It equips students with skills in cost analysis, valuation, risk assessment, and dispute resolution. They also gain knowledge of industry-standard software used for cost estimation and project management.  

 

A career in quantity surveying can lead to opportunities in various sectors, including construction, real estate, infrastructure development, and consultancy firms. Quantity surveyors play a key role in ensuring that projects are financially viable and completed efficiently. The profession requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of construction processes and regulations.

Requirements

UTME SUBJECTS ; English Language, Mathematics, Geography and Physics/Chemistry/Biolog y. DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS ; (i) A/L passes in Mathematics and any of Physics , Chemistry and Geography. (2) OND at Upper Credit in Architecture, URP or Building Technology.
