Program Summary

Guidance and counselling as a course focuses on equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills to support others in their personal, educational, social, and career development. It explores psychological theories, counseling techniques, and communication strategies essential for guiding individuals through challenges and decision-making processes. The course covers various aspects, including individual and group counseling, ethical considerations, assessment methods, and intervention strategies.

Students learn how to provide emotional support, foster self-awareness, and help clients develop problem-solving skills. The program also delves into specialized areas such as career counselling, mental health support, family therapy, and crisis intervention. Emphasis is placed on understanding human behavior, cultural diversity, and the importance of empathy in professional practice.

Through theoretical learning and practical application, students gain hands-on experience in counselling settings, applying techniques such as active listening, conflict resolution, and motivational interviewing. The course prepares graduates for careers in educational institutions, healthcare settings, community organizations, and corporate environments, where they can work as counsellors, social workers, or human resource professionals. It promotes professional growth, ethical responsibility, and the ability to create a positive impact on individuals and society.
