Program Summary

Economics as a course focuses on the study of how individuals, businesses, and governments allocate resources to satisfy their needs and wants. It explores decision-making processes, production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. The course examines key concepts such as supply and demand, market structures, inflation, unemployment, economic growth, and international trade. It also delves into different economic systems, including capitalism, socialism, and mixed economies, analyzing their advantages and limitations.

Students learn about microeconomics, which focuses on individual and business-level economic activities, and macroeconomics, which deals with broader economic factors affecting entire economies. The course introduces economic theories, models, and real-world applications to help students understand how economies function and how policies impact financial stability. It often involves mathematical and statistical tools to analyze economic data and predict trends.

Economics is relevant in various fields such as finance, public policy, business, and international relations. It helps develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, which are valuable for making informed decisions in personal finance, business strategies, and government policies. Whether studying economic principles theoretically or applying them practically, economics provides a strong foundation for understanding the complexities of the modern world.
