Program Summary

Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering is a field of study focused on the design, development, testing, and operation of aircraft and spacecraft. It combines principles of physics, mathematics, and engineering to create vehicles capable of navigating Earth's atmosphere and outer space. This course covers a wide range of topics, including aerodynamics, propulsion systems, structural analysis, flight mechanics, avionics, and space systems engineering. 

 

Students learn about the forces and dynamics that affect aircraft and spacecraft, as well as the materials and technologies used in their construction. The course involves both theoretical and practical components, incorporating laboratory work, computer simulations, and hands-on projects. Students may engage in designing aircraft wings, testing propulsion engines, or developing satellites and space exploration systems. 

 

The program also explores emerging technologies such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), hypersonic flight, and deep-space exploration. It requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as engineers in this field must ensure safety, efficiency, and sustainability in aerospace designs. Career opportunities exist in industries such as aviation, defense, space exploration, and research institutions, with roles ranging from aircraft design engineers to mission planners and propulsion specialists.

Requirements

UTME REQUIREMENTS; ENG, MAT, PHY, CHE. DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS; All Direct Entry Candidates are expected to immediately submit a copy each of the online Admission Screening Report and the notification of Diploma (LASU Diploma)/NCE Result at the Admission Annex/Liaison Office (Room 7, Administrative Block II).
