Program Summary

Statistics is a field of study that involves collecting, organizing, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data to make informed decisions. It provides essential tools for understanding patterns, relationships, and trends in various fields such as business, economics, healthcare, social sciences, and engineering. The course covers both descriptive and inferential statistics, where descriptive methods summarize and visualize data through measures like mean, median, standard deviation, and graphical representations, while inferential methods use probability theory to make predictions or generalizations about a larger population based on a sample. Probability concepts, including distributions, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, regression analysis, and statistical modeling, are fundamental topics in the course. Students learn to apply statistical software and techniques to real-world problems, developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The course also emphasizes the importance of ethical considerations in data collection and analysis, ensuring the reliability and validity of statistical conclusions.
