Program Summary
The guiding principle of the French Department is the imperative need to produce educated citizens, capable of communication effectively in French, thus making it possible for Nigeria to participate fully in international relations. The school offers a five-year and a four-year programme, each leading to the B.A (Honours) degree in French. In addition provides courses in elementary and intermediate French courses for students in other disciplines and who need the foreign language as an elective or a required ancillary course. The penultimate year of the programme is spent partly or entirely in a francophone country or at the Nigerian Language Village, Ajara, Badagry, an alternative programme available for students who are unable to travel out.
