Program Summary

Education and Igbo Language is a specialized academic program that focuses on the teaching and learning of the Igbo language, literature, and culture while incorporating educational principles and methodologies. Requirements

UTME REQUIREMENTS; For admission into the four year degree programme leading to the award of a B.A (Ed) degree, candidates in Education Igbo should possess at least credit passes in five subjects including: Igbo language, English language and Mathematics and any other two subjects obtained in not more than two sittings of a senior school certificate examinations (SSCE). Also a required/stipulated pass in UTME of the admission year. DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS; For admission through direct entry into the three year degree programme leading to the award of a B.A (Ed) degree candidates should possess: a. Three subjects at the principal level of A/L examinations, especially Igbo language. English and any other arts subject, in addition to the normal five subjects obtained at O/Level as mentioned above. b. N.C.E with at least passes in Igbo, English and education theory. There shall be a minimum of six points (6 points) by the point system. Definitely, points from education practice do not count. This qualifies the candidates for a four –year degree programme.
