Program Summary

Creative Arts as a course is an interdisciplinary field that explores various forms of artistic expression, including visual arts, music, theater, dance, literature, and digital media. It focuses on developing creativity, critical thinking, and technical skills while encouraging students to explore their artistic potential.  

 

Key Areas of Study:

1. Visual Arts – Painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and digital art.  

2. Performing Arts– Music, dance, drama, and theater production.  

3. Literary Arts – Creative writing, poetry, and storytelling.  

4. Media Arts– Film, animation, graphic design, and multimedia production.  

5. Art History & Theory – Study of artistic movements, cultural influences, and aesthetic principles.

Requirements

Candidates must have credit passes in the following subjects: English Language (Compulsory) One (1) from: Fine Arts, Literature-in-English, or Music One (1) Arts subject One (1) Science or Social Science subject DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS; Very good passes in three JUPEB/A’ Level subjects: i. Theatre Arts: Literature-in-English and any two of Igbo/Yoruba, CRS/IRS, French, History, Government, Music and Visual Arts. ii. Visual Arts: Visual Arts and any two of Igbo/Yoruba, CRS/IRS, French, History, Government and Music. iii. Music: Music and any two from Literature-inEnglish, Igbo/Yoruba, CRS/IRS, French, History, Government, Economics, Chemistry, Biology, Further Mathematics and Visual Arts. Also accepts HND/OND at Upper Credit Level in Drama/Theatre and Music; NCE Music and Diploma or Advanced level in Music from the Royal School of Music, London, Trinity College, London and Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON).
