Program Summary
Geography is a course that studies the Earth’s physical features, environments, and human activities, and how they interact over space and time. It is divided into physical geography—which covers landforms, climate, vegetation, and natural resources—and human geography, which focuses on population, culture, urban development, and economic activities. Students also learn skills in map reading, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and spatial analysis. The course prepares graduates for careers in urban planning, environmental management, cartography, disaster management, teaching, and geographic research.
