As a course, it covers areas such as mineralogy, petrology, paleontology, structural geology, and geophysics. Students learn about Earth’s history, natural resources, and environmental processes like earthquakes, volcanoes, and erosion. It prepares them for careers in environmental consulting, natural resource exploration, mining, oil and gas industries, and geotechnical engineering.
