Program Summary

Public law is a branch of law that governs the relationship between individuals and the government, as well as the structures and functions of government institutions. It focuses on the regulation of public institutions, the protection of individual rights against state actions, and the maintenance of public order. The course typically covers constitutional law, administrative law, criminal law, and human rights law, among other areas. Students studying public law explore the principles, doctrines, and legal frameworks that shape government power, the rule of law, and the rights of citizens. They examine the interaction between the state and its citizens, ensuring that government actions comply with legal norms, democratic values, and respect for civil liberties. Additionally, public law delves into the mechanisms of accountability and judicial review, emphasizing the role of courts in overseeing the actions of public bodies and ensuring that they act within their legal authority.
