Program Summary
Geography and Environmental Management as a course explores the relationship between humans and the environment, focusing on how human activities impact the natural world and how environmental challenges can be managed. It combines elements of both natural and social sciences, studying physical landscapes, ecosystems, climate change, resource management, and urbanization. Students learn about environmental policies, sustainability practices, and the science behind environmental changes, such as deforestation, pollution, and biodiversity loss. The course also covers spatial analysis and geographic information systems (GIS) to better understand the distribution of natural resources and human settlements. Ultimately, the course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to address pressing environmental issues through sustainable development and effective environmental management strategies.
