Program Summary

Linguistics and communication studies is an interdisciplinary course that explores the nature, structure, and function of language and how it is used in various forms of human communication. It examines language from both theoretical and practical perspectives, focusing on areas such as phonetics, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and discourse analysis. The course also delves into how communication operates in different social, cultural, and professional contexts, emphasizing verbal and non-verbal forms, media communication, interpersonal communication, and intercultural interactions. Students learn how language influences thought, identity, and society, and they develop analytical skills to understand and evaluate communication practices across different platforms and communities. The program often combines research, critical thinking, and practical communication skills, preparing graduates for careers in education, media, public relations, translation, and other fields that require strong language and communication expertise.
